The Archers are releasing their debut full-length album These Wicked Woods officially on April 15th, 2014. The Victoria, BC based band have been making their mark as a talented indie rock-folk-pop quartet since the release of their EP in 2011, and they are continuing to invigorate the scene with their new album. In this age where music genres are a sometimes a messy jumble of influences attempting to meld together, The Archers have emerged triumphant in their blend of folky harmonies, modern rock, and indie-pop trends. These Wicked Woods is rousing example of when all parts move together in perfect balance.
The band’s reputation is akin to their extensive touring schedule, and this spring and summer, The Archers are going back and forth across Canada for nearly two months in celebration of the new album’s release. They’ll also be showcasing at Canadian Music Week in the middle of the trip. No strangers to the road, the band have trekked most of the way across the continent before, and are excited to return to familiar fans and make some new ones on the way. Check out the new album and come to a show near you! Dates will be added to the tour so check back often to www.TheArchersBand.com.

The Archers could be deemed rock band, with their high energy electric sounds, or they could be called folk, due to their luscious harmonies and varied instrumentation. Perhaps they’re even a pop band, bringing forth horns and keys in indie splendor, but regardless of what kind of band The Archers are, the quartet of musicians weaves these influences into a compelling and radiant sound with modern and traditional sensibilities.
The Archers are kick off the release of their debut full length album These Wicked Woods on April 15th, 2014, with a cross Canada tour commencing immediately following. These Wicked Woods was recorded at Monarch Studio with Tom Dobrzanski (Said The Whale, We Are The City) and mastered at SAE with Roger Seibel (Broken Social Scene, Bon Iver, Tegan and Sara). The album leads out with the band’s signature harmonies, breaking into the folk-rock anthem of the title track, and it keeps pace throughout, creating a feeling that’s bright and cheerful while heavy and thoughtful. Sandy Hughes, Ethan Caleb Henthorn, Liam Moes, and Liam McLaren share the roles of lead vocals, guitar, piano, bass, drums, mandolin, banjo and multiple other percussion instruments, and all are multi-talented musicians, songwriters and performers, contributing equally to the overall sound.
