Speed Control Run Rock Camps by Day and Shred All Night
MEMBERS:
Graeme Peters - Guitar/Vocals
Jody Peters - Bass
Spencer Cole - drums
MODUS OPERANDI:
Speed Control are known for traveling the country in a large van bringing people together with music education in their Rock Camps, with sessions available for beginners (Rock on Stage), existing bands (Rock Harder, Rock Smarter), and for adults not ready to rock a chair yet (Release Your Inner Rocker). They also perform From Rags To Rock in schools, an evolutionary journey through the history of popular music, reaching back to 1898 and showcasing the influences upon it.
Speed Control are perhaps even more known to kick their heels up when the sun goes down at local watering holes and gathering places, causing large raucous dance parties with their songcraft. With an interactive and animated show, Speed Control pours out high-energy rock, while revealing some undercurrents of jazz influence. They holler stories of the trials and tribulations of love, or poke fun at their own generation, with snappy lyrics true to the times.
PHYSICAL EVIDENCE:
Speed Control released their debut The A.D.D. Sides in June 2010, which is available on Bandcamp and iTunes, thanks in part to the Yukon Film and Sound Commission.

THE BACK STORY:
Speed Control was born out of the heady atmosphere of the University of Toronto's Jazz Program, when frontman Graeme Peters joined forces with drummer Spencer Cole. Enlisting Graeme's brother Jody to fill out the bottom end on bass, they became the band that rocks so hard today. Touring the last few years through the Yukon, BC and Alberta, in their beloved van "Neuman", Speed Control have built a fan base that will follow them for years to come. During their last tour in summer 2011, "Neuman" died a firey death in a parking lot, prompting the band to utilize that fan base for help. Getting an IndieGoGo account on the go, and having their loyal fans set up a fundraiser in their hometown of Whitehorse, Speed Control not only raised money towards their new van "Borris", but increased the reach of their rock and roll epic to new audiences. Together with "Borris", Speed Control are ready to once again set out to entertain the masses.
